Resolutions as adopted in Istanbul 2014

Recommendations of the ESC for the Post Hyogo Framework of Action (HFA2)

     That the ESC mission is to promote the science of Seismology within the scientific community of the European and Mediterranean countries, by promoting research studies, and extending and enhancing scientific co-operation; and

     That in 2011, the United Nations General Assembly, through the Resolution 66/199, called for the development of a ‘post‐2015 framework for disaster risk reduction (HFA2)’, asking institutions worldwide to submit recommendations for HFA2.

     The endorsement and distribution of the ‘Recommendations of the European Seismological Commission (ESC) for the Post Hyogo Framework of Action (HFA2)’, prepared by the Executive Committee in consultation with the ESC community



The hard work and warm welcome of the Local Organizing Committee in arranging the XXXIV General Assembly of the ESC in Istanbul, organised within the second European Conference on Earthquake Engineering and Seismology, and noting the success of the sessions, and fruitful outcomes of many meetings and debates, the ESC Council

The LOC for all their efforts and expertise in organizing such a successful and memorable occasion in all respects: the quality of the facilities and convivial social events with our colleagues from the EAEE.
