On the approval of the 2006 amendments to the ESC bylaws:

1.    ESC Subcommissions are considered dissolved, with the only residual obligation on the chairpersons being to produce their final reports for the proceedings of the 2006 Geneva General Assembly.

2.    Existing WGs will continue their activities until the Executive Committee meeting to be held during the next IUGG General Assembly in Perugia, July 2007.

3.    The WG chairpersons are invited to submit to the Executive Committee a proposal defining the objectives and the activities that the WG would like to pursue for the next two administrative periods (four years), or for a shorter completion period, according to the new approved requirements for WGs. The Executive Committee will evaluate these proposals for the re-establishment of the WGs.

4.    The Executive Committee welcomes proposals for the establishment of new WGs, which will be similarly evaluated.

5.    WGs not providing the requested information on time will be considered dissolved
